Nonetheless, Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker still has his fair share of fans and, after all, actors don’t write the scripts. He’s the polar opposite: confidently talking to girls, standing up to bullies, and riding around on his skateboard. That was nowhere to be seen in Andrew Garfield’s movies, as it desperately tried to be a more “serious” and “dramatic” take on Spider-Man. He’s a cool guy, but that cool demeanor is what led to his downfall: Peter Parker is supposed to be an awkward, shy, and nervous dork. Garfield is a fantastic actor ( ever heard of Social Network and Hacksaw Ridge?). Still, Andrew Garfield isn't at fault for these outside elements when he truly gave it his all as Peter Parker. After a duo of divisive films and the sequel especially getting a less-than-complimentary reception from critics, the planned third movie was ultimately canned. Andrew Garfield is arguably the weakest live-action Spider-Man we’ve had up to this point, but it’s hard to blame that on Garfield entirely.
